* Our policy regarding obtaining permission is not to cause undue grief. It is to help educate young filmmakers in understanding the process that will apply to them as they become established filmmakers. It is much easier to contact a musician or corporation and say, "I am making a high school film for a festival, may I have permission to use your song [or product]?" as a student than in later years. It is also an excercise in networking, because making the contact now may open doors in the future.

Categories:
1. Dramatic/Narrative - includes short films, music videos, etc.
2. Documentary - includes mini docs, news packages, etc.
3. Commercials/Promos - includes commercials, promos, sports highlights, yearbooks, etc.

Judging Criteria:
Judged on demonstrated creative and technical abilities.

Awards:
- All winning films will be screened at the annual Thunderbird International Film Festival. Winners will receive two VIP passes for festival and an invitation to attend a special social in their honor with established filmmakers.
